WHAT WE DO

Homeless Resource Center (HRC) is a physical place of refuge and resources for people experiencing homelessness or are at-risk of homelessness in Douglas County, Kansas. We are conveniently located in downtown Lawrence,.

HRC provides guests with basic necessities and personal resources, such as:

  • Showers

  • Personal hygiene items

  • Coffee and snacks

  • Restrooms

  • Laundry with washer and dryer

  • Telephones

  • Mail receiving

  • Referrals for services to other area agencies

  • Activities and workshops as offered by local volunteers

  • Donated books

HRC encourages and takes part in community discussions on homelessness, focusing on its impact on local residents and the community. While these conversations with us are welcome anytime, we also host scheduled town hall meetings; these discussions aim to raise awareness by listening to those directly affected and creating meaningful outcomes at both the individual and county levels.

Follow us on Instagram and Facebook for details on our next town halls.
